4 Supplements I’ve Been Trying

supplements to try

Supplements are definitely part of my daily routine now. I’ve always been that girl who chugs Emergen-C in the winter and takes gummy vitamins everyday. But, now more than ever, I’ve been focusing on supplements that can truly help with different issues.

If you know me, or have ever messaged with me, you know that I’m an open book! I will always open up about my health issues and if I can help anyone by sharing my experience than that makes me so happy 🙂 I’m all about getting rid of the stigma with medications/health issues because we all have things to deal with! I talk a lot about my hypothyroidism on a recent podcast episode for A Scoop of Balance if you want to check it out.

It’s so important to focus on our health during this crazy time, and for me that means mind and body. Here are four supplements that I’ve been trying for over 3+ months. Of course you know I’m not a professional and this is just what’s been working for me. As always, please check with your doctor before adding in anything to your routine.

4 Supplements I’ve Been Trying

  1. Nutrafol- I have hypothyroidism and one of the symptoms is hair loss or thinning hair. I’ve been lucky to not lose my hair, but I definitely feel like it’s starting to thin in some spots. I started taking Nutrafol back in March and am definitely seeing a difference with how fast my hair grows (and my nails, too)! I highly recommend checking it out if you’re having any hair loss or thinning issues. It’s totally normal, in both women and men, and stress can cause it too! There are a lot of options out there with somewhat risky ingredients too, but I actually feel comfortable with Nutrafol and it’s nutraceutical ingredients!
  2. Equilibria CBD– A longtime favorite, but I’ve been leaning toward CBD now more than ever. You’ve probably seen me chat about Equilibria on Instagram before, but it IS the real deal. I’ve been adding CBD into my routine for over two years, and this brand is by far my favorite. I take one soft gel in the morning and one in the evening, and use the daily drops when I’m feeling stressed or need a little extra help sleeping. If you’re new to CBD, it’s good to know that it does not make you high. Industrial hemp is a cannabis sativa plant grown specifically to exhibit 0.3% THC content or less — this is why there’s no intoxicating effect, but also why it’s legal. Equilibria is also founded by women, for women, so they understand how our bodies react differently. If you’re interested in checking it out, I highly recommend setting a virtual appointment with a dosage specialist to find our your best routine! (pro tip: LIFESTYLESBYLAUREN can get you 15% off your order too)
  3. Olly Women’s Multivitamins– I picked these up at Target during quarantine for a little extra push to stay healthy. The women’s multivitamins are great for everyday. They have 18 essential nutrients to help us ladies thrive. They’re also gluten free and have no artificial sweeteners, flavors, or colors. I’ve also heard great things about their sleep vitamins if you have issues with that.
  4. Methylcare– Okay, so this one was recommended by my Endocrinologist (thyroid doctor), and made a world of a difference. In addition to my under-active thyroid, I was also #blessed with the MTHFR gene. Believe me, the acronym is no joke.. it’s a real mother :p This gene mutation basically mimics an under-active thyroid and can cause weight gain, mood swings, and tiredness as well. If you want more info, I’ll link an article here. But, it’s found by doing a specific blood test that your doctor orders if your other blood tests are showing signs. The methylcare supplements help with my energy (B12) and metabolism maintenance. This definitely isn’t one that you should take unless you need it though!

What are some supplements that you swear by? LMK if you have any questions too!
