Holiday Glam Apartment Decor

It’s officially December, YAY! Now it will be socially acceptable to get all of your holiday decor out and sign those Christmas songs on the way to work (finally). I’d be lying if I said I didn’t want to leave my Christmas decorations up year-round, but I guess a month will do.

Living in an apartment in NYC, it can be especially hard to decorate without taking up too much space. Guess who always drove back to college with a car full of holiday decor after Thanksgiving? THIS GAL. I know.. so shocking.

But now that I have less space, I tried to be mindful of the clutter and add holiday cheer without creating a mess! I found that when I kept everything in line with our apartment’s color scheme, it looked much better than adding in the classic bright red and green. ย Holiday glam is a perfect way to describe my theme this year- White, gold, blush, and gray with lots and lots of glitter ๐Ÿ™‚

Here I’ve listed the five categories that help make your house festive for the holidays! You can click on each photo to shop directly. Let me know your favorite way to add holiday cheer around the house.

Pillows + Throws

Blankets are always the answer. A simple way to add in functional decorations is by using pillows and blankets- things you would need anyways! I love faux fur for the winter months, and this year I got some white and gold pillows to match.

Home Accents

Do you have any bookshelves or a tv stand that could use a little love? The holidays are a great time to fill in your empty shelves with little decorations that fit your color scheme.

Tree Skirts

Even if you have a small space and have to get a teeny tiny tree, you can make it special by adding a fun tree skirt! I’ve seen fur, knit, and ruffled ones this year that I’m loving. Also, I went with a flocked tree that looks like it has snow on it and I think it looks magical!

Stockings

Everyone deserves a stocking! Hanging them is super easy (we used command hooks), and you don’t even need a fireplace. My roommate and I got stockings for our boyfriends too, so our wall is filled with four cute ones from the Hearth & Hand by Magnolia line ๐Ÿ™‚

Wreaths and Garland

Even though I live in an apartment now, I still have a wreath on my front door. Wreaths are an adorable way to welcome guests into your home. As for garland, my parents always hung it along our stairs and it looked beautiful! Now I have it on our media stand, and love adding something fun like this to our coffee table and bar cart.

  1. I absolutely adore the flocked tree, I bought our first one this year too! Thanks for sharing all your decor, you have beautiful taste, and I love your color scheme.

  2. I’ve been wanting to get a new tree skirt for years. Ours is SO old and falling apart. Maybe my mom wouldn’t mind me gifting her a glam one this Christmas hehe!
