Let’s Talk Coffee: Café Demetrio Miami

Finding cute, local coffee shops is one of my favorite hobbies. I love going to a new city and scouring Instagram for photos of the perfect latté. Basic? Maybe. Worth it? Definitely.

Although I’m not even a huge coffee drinker, there is something about the vibes that a smaller coffee house gives off that makes me feel so relaxed.  Starbucks will always be one of my spots for a chai latte, but finding unique shops is so much better.

Before I went to Miami for Spring Break, I started searching for restaurants and must-see places. Word of advice: Checking out food blogger Instagram accounts from the city you are traveling to can be so helpful! I’ve found that official restaurant accounts make it hard to tell what the experience is actually like. So I prefer to see the food and atmosphere from the customer’s point of view.

I came across Café Demetrio on several Miami food accounts. The lattés looked so tasty and adorable, and they even served fresh breakfast food! It’s always a bonus when a coffee shop also has yummy food. I was so happy to collaborate with them and go in for breakfast one morning!

Nestled in the heart of Coral Gables, FL, Café Demetrio was the first established coffee house and has been serving authentic blends since the 1920s. The owners wanted to create a community atmosphere, and invite customers to spend hours here relaxing on the patio or reading a book.

Of course we sat on the patio for breakfast and enjoyed the south Florida sun while eating.

We definitely dined like champions here and got to sample several of Café Demetrio’s breakfast offerings. We had the Nutella Belgian Waffles, Spicy Morning, and Demetrio Omelettle.  Let me tell you-they were all so fresh and amazing.

As for coffee, we ordered the Cinnamon Toast Latté (left) and the Café Leo (right). The Cinnamon Toast drink is a blend of a double shot of espresso and their special cinnamon blend.  The Café Leo has chocolate, caramel, and hazelnut in it for the sweetest and yummiest coffee ever. Also… how cute are the hearts?!

If you ever find yourself in South Florida, I highly recommend stopping here for a latté or breakfast. You will not be disappointed!

A special thank you to Leo and Café Demetrio for having me!

  1. Oh my goodness, that Cinnamon Toast Latté and Café Leo are works of art! If they taste as good as they look, I would be willing to road trip there for the drinks alone! Don’t even get me started on that omelet. I’m a huge egg lover and this place looks like it’s the brunch of my dreams! haha. Hope you had an amazing time there!

  2. It’s funny to read this as I’m not a huge coffee drinker either, actually I don’t drink anything with caffeine in it, but I do love the atmosphere of a good coffee shop and usually they do have other things than just pure coffee in their selection too so I often find myself spending time in them 🙂
