If you asked whether I’d rather cook or go out to eat, I’d almost always answer with going out. I’m a true foodie at heart and love exploring new places around the city. Thankfully, New York has so many good options to try! Recently, I stopped by Trattoria Italienne in Flatiron to try their dinner and left so full and happy 🙂
Opened in 2016 by Chef Jared Sippel and General Manager James King, Trattoria Italienne offers a casual dining experience rooted in Northern Italian and Southern French cuisine. Chef Sippel’s cuisine highlights the best products of the season and focuses on the close relationships with our purveyors. Our wine program showcases regional specific wines to pair alongside the menu, providing an authentic ‘old world’ dining experience.
Since we were just in both France and Italy last month, I was extra excited to see how they blended these cuisines together. Let’s be real…I’ve never met a pasta dish I didn’t like 🙂 Read about each course below and see how you can try out Trattoria Italienne for a great price during New York City Restaurant Week!
Dinner at Trattoria Italienne
Appetizers:
Fazio Farm Burrata, Roasted Little Gem Lettuce, Dok Dall’ava Prosciutto, and assorted Stuzzichini (bar snacks)- Such a great assortment of food to start off the night. Paired with cocktails before we switched to wine for the meal.
Pasta Course: Sweet Onion Agnolotti, Macaroncello, and Gnochetti- all AMAZING and paired with wine. The Macaroncello had to be my favorite with the fresh summer squash and blossom butter.
Main Course: Herb Roasted Fazio Farms 1/2 Chicken- This dish is made for two, and even though we were so full we almost finished it. It was that good.
Dessert: Chocolate and Buttermilk Panna Cotta- The sweet and savory desserts tasted great together.
Trattoria Italienne is located on 19 W 24th St. in NYC. They are open every day at 5:30p for dinner and weekends at 11:30 for brunch! Be sure to check out their NYC Restaurant Week deals for $26 brunch/lunch and $42 dinners from July 23 – August 17th.
