Ways to Support your Local Small Businesses

local small businesses

Hey fam! Hope you’ve all been doing well and staying safe. I’ve been quiet on here for a bit because I needed some time to process everything and get used to the new normal. But, I actually left NYC in mid-March and have been staying with my parents in Pittsburgh, PA (where I grew up). I just feel so bad for the local small businesses right now, and thought that we can help.

I’ve been thinking a lot about ways that we can support local small businesses and also help out people in need. Without getting too detailed, this whole event is really sad + we should all do our part to help out when we can!

I asked you guys to respond on Instagram with local small businesses that you love and could use some extra help right now. Every spot is listed below, along with some of my personal favorites. I split it into different categories for NYC-based and Pittsburgh-based restaurants and services for you guys. If you need some other reading, check out my NYC Brunch Guide for delivery inspiration.

Restaurants

Even though we can’t eat out at restaurants, we can still order takeout and delivery from a ton of spots! A lot of places are even offering specials and deals when you order. If your favorite local spot is closed, you can buy a gift card to use in the future, too.  Some places that had to temporarily close are hosting fundraisers for their employees. Finally, treat someone you love to a delivery care package! What’s better than yummy food + drinks to brighten your mood?
